WHAT INFORMATION DO I NEED TO PROVIDE FOR PRESCRIPTION LENSES?

To fit your prescription lenses, we need your correction values. You'll find them on the prescription issued by your ophthalmologist, listed separately for the right eye and left eye.

Required prescription values:
SPH (Sphere)
CYL (Cylinder)
AXIS
PD (Pupillary Distance)

Important: We strictly apply the information provided by you at the time of purchase. It is your responsibility to ensure that all details are sent to us (pupillary distance, axis, cylinder, etc.).

SPHERE (SPH)
The sphere indicates your lens correction. The value is preceded by a + if you're farsighted or a - if you're nearsighted. On your prescription, the right eye is marked "OD" and the left eye "OS" (or "OG"). It's essential to provide the correct sign (+ or -) for each eye when ordering. If "OU" (or "ODG") appears with a single value, both eyes have the same correction.

CYLINDER (CYL)
The cylinder corrects astigmatism. If you don't have astigmatism, there will be no cylinder value.
If you have astigmatism, provide the cylinder value along with its sign (+ or -).

CYLINDER AXIS (AXIS)
The axis value is only indicated when there is a cylinder, for cases of astigmatism.

PUPILLARY DISTANCE (PD)
The pupillary distance describes the distance between the center of your pupils and the center of your face, measured in mm.
Without a prescription or without your indication of the pupillary distance, we will apply a standard pupillary distance. It is therefore your responsibility to ensure that all information is provided to us.

CAN YOU MAKE ALL PRESCRIPTIONS?

Online, we can only process prescriptions within these ranges:
Sphere: -6 to +6
Cylinder: -2.25 to +2.25

If your prescription falls outside this range, we won't normally be able to process it. However, feel free to write to us at contact@lepetitlunetier.com as we can make exceptions.
For very high prescriptions, additional measurements are required, which can only be taken in person by an optician in-store.

PROGRESSIVE LENSES

We offer progressive lenses on our e-shop. As this type of lens requires precise measurements, we'll ask you to send us a front-facing photo of your face to avoid errors.
In case of fitting issues, we offer to remake a distance vision (DV) and near vision (NV) pair as an exchange. We therefore offer a second pair.
In-store, we can also make progressive lenses without any issue.
You can find our store addresses here: Our stores

PRISMS

If your prescription includes prismatic lenses, we unfortunately cannot process it.

WHAT OPTIONS/COATINGS CAN I CHOOSE FOR MY PRESCRIPTION LENSES?

You can choose from several options and coatings when selecting your prescription lenses or prescription sun lenses.

Lens thickness:

  • Standard (index 1.5)
  • Thin (index 1.6)
  • Very thin (index 1.67)
  • Ultra thin (index 1.74)

Additional coating:

  • Basic scratch-resistant (Shamir HC)
  • Scratch-resistant + anti-reflective (Shamir HMC)
  • Scratch-resistant + anti-reflective + anti-smudge (Shamir Gla+ UV)
  • Blue-light filter (Shamir Blue Zero)

Additional sun lens coating:

  • Basic scratch-resistant (Shamir HC)
  • Scratch-resistant + anti-reflective (Shamir HMC)
  • Gradient sun lens

HOW DO I CHOOSE THE RIGHT LENS THICKNESS?

The choice of thinned lenses depends on your prescription and the aesthetic result you want on the frame: the stronger the prescription, the thicker the lens will be, and the more a thinned lens will be necessary to avoid a heavy, less aesthetically pleasing lens.

The lens thickness also depends on the type of frame you choose. The thinner the frame, the more thinning is recommended for an aesthetic result and comfortable wear.

Here's a chart to help you choose lens thickness based on your prescription:

Examples of thin frames: Hanna.B, Phoebe.B, Kelsey.P, Sabrina.S
Examples of thicker frames: Elie.A, Emma.S, Sarah.C, Arsene.L

If in doubt or if you'd like more advice on choosing your prescription lenses, feel free to email us at contact@lepetitlunetier.com. We're available from 9am to 5pm and respond to all emails within 24 working hours.

TINT AND BLUE REFLECTION ON LENSES WITH OR WITHOUT PRESCRIPTION

For blue-light filter frames WITHOUT prescription:

All our glasses (without prescription) are automatically equipped with blue-light filter lenses. This filter protects eyes against artificial blue light emitted by screens (TV, computer, tablet, smartphone...).
The blue filter may cause a slight tint on your lenses and some blue reflections may appear on the lenses.

Prescription lenses:

If you choose prescription glasses with a blue-light filter, we integrate the blue-light filter directly into your prescription lenses. This provides an almost transparent lens and minimizes blue reflections on the lenses as much as possible.

CAN I ORDER GLASSES WITHOUT PRESCRIPTION?

Absolutely. All our glasses are automatically equipped with non-prescription lenses with blue-light filter. This filter protects eyes against artificial blue light emitted by screens (TV, computer, tablet, smartphone...).

PREPARATION TIME

To fit a pair of glasses to your prescription, allow between 2 and 7 working days upon receipt of your prescription for the preparation and fitting of your glasses. Delivery is always by tracked mail within 48 to 72 working hours.

RETURNS AND EXCHANGES FOR PRESCRIPTION LENSES

Prescription lenses are ordered, fitted, and cut to measure. They therefore cannot be refunded or exchanged within the 14-day cooling-off period, in accordance with the law on custom-made products.
In case of a proven defect on the lenses (breakage or error during preparation), we will obviously replace the defective product free of charge.
Frames are guaranteed for 1 year from the date of purchase.

WHAT TO DO IN CASE OF FITTING ISSUES?

Sometimes, when receiving your order, the correction may not suit you. This is called a fitting issue and can happen. You have 15 days for single-vision lenses and 60 days for progressive lenses to notify us by email at contact@lepetitlunetier.com.

CAN I ORDER A FRAME FROM YOU AND HAVE PRESCRIPTION LENSES FITTED ELSEWHERE?

You can absolutely order a frame from us and have prescription lenses fitted by another optician, provided they agree to it of course.
The frame purchased from us will then not be eligible for social security and insurance reimbursement.
As soon as another optician handles the fitting of prescription lenses on one of our frames, the frame warranty no longer applies.

CERTIFICATE OF AUTHENTICITY

All our prescription lenses are ordered and fitted by qualified opticians. The purchase certificate for your lens showing the prescription (in transposed notation) is available upon request from our customer service by email at contact@lepetitlunetier.com.
