The real issue

Too many glasses end up in the trash

A large part of the market relies on cheap mass-produced plastic frames designed to be replaced rather than repaired. This results in millions of pairs being thrown away each year, made from plastic that barely gets recycled.

We made the opposite choice. A frame you keep, that you repair, that you replace as seldom as possible. Keeping your glasses longer is what prevents the most waste. Nothing flashy, but it works.

Our materials

Acetate, metal, bio-acetate

Our frames are made from hypoallergenic acetate and metal, chosen for their durability. We favour materials that last and can be repaired. You'll find them on our prescription glasses and our sunglasses.

Made of different stuff

More and more bio-acetate

We've launched over fifteen models in bio-acetate, a material partly derived from plants that replaces a portion of plastic sourced from petroleum.

We move forward model by model, without rushing. We only convert a frame if quality and comfort remain at the highest level. Converting our entire collection will take time, and we'd rather do it right than do it fast.

Packaging and shipping

We rethought all our packaging

This is often where waste hides. Plastic sleeves, over-packaging, pointless padding. A package can generate a lot of waste for very little. We rethought every element, from the outer box to the frame protection.

  • Recycled cardboard. Our shipping box is made from recycled cardboard, and is recyclable again once it reaches you.
  • No plastic pouch. We've eliminated the plastic shipping bag. Your glasses never leave in a plastic envelope.
  • Recycled plastic on the frame. The protective pouch for the frame is made from recycled plastic. The industry standard is still virgin plastic. We chose recycled.
  • Rigid cardboard, case that delivers. The cardboard is rigid and compliant with European packaging regulations. Inside, a quality case built to last well beyond delivery.

Transport

Sea and rail before air

When it comes to shipping goods, air freight is by far the biggest emitter. Whenever possible, we bring our products by sea and rail rather than by air. It's our default choice, not the exception.

Internally, we apply the same rule. Since 2025, air travel is banned for our teams' business trips within France. We travel by train.

Our manufacturers

We know who makes our glasses, and we prove it

Our frames are produced by partner manufacturers we work with directly and have worked with long-term. This lasting relationship lets us demand real standards and monitor quality closely. These manufacturers are audited and certified, and each certification covers one specific area.

  • Sedex.Working conditions and social and environmental practices.
  • ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.Manufacturing rigor, including for medical devices like prescription glasses.
  • ISCC PLUS.Traceability of sustainable materials in the supply chain.

Our products pass compliance checks and carry the CE mark. What doesn't meet our standards doesn't reach our stores.

Our principles

We say less, and we prove it

Optics isn't immune to greenwashing. Many brands promise recycled, sustainable, responsible products without substance behind them. We stick to what we can demonstrate: the material, repairs, packaging, our manufacturers' certifications. When we go further, we'll write about it with proof, not grand words.
