Blue light glasses
Our optical frames come with lenses that filter part of the blue light given off by screens. The filter is free in every case: it comes already fitted on frames sold without a prescription, and on a pair made to your prescription it is included, with the option to remove it if you prefer. The price doesn't change.
What a filter does, and what it doesn't
Filtering part of the blue light is an optical property of the lens. It is not a health promise: the available studies don't show that a filter reduces eye strain or improves sleep. We'd rather tell you that than sell it to you.
What is better documented is that discomfort in front of a screen depends mostly on time, distance, blinking and room lighting. An accurate prescription and a well-centred frame do more for it than a filter. Our article on whether blue light glasses work goes through what the research shows, and the one on blue light and sleep covers wearing them in the evening.
Screen glasses, computer glasses, gaming glasses
They're the same lenses, named after different uses. People say screen glasses when the pair is worn without a prescription, for comfort in front of a screen. Computer glasses means the same product in an office setting, gaming glasses for gaming and long sessions: our comparison of blue light glasses for gaming and screens sorts out these uses.
With or without a prescription
Without a prescription, the frame arrives ready to wear, filter included, from €49. With your prescription, we fit single-vision or progressive lenses to match it, and you keep the filter or not, at the same price.
Choosing the frame
All our optical frames qualify, so the choice comes down to shape and colour, not the lens. Start with the women's styles or the men's styles, compare shapes with the virtual try-on, or read our guide to choosing a frame for your face shape.
