You can claim reimbursement for your glasses purchased on our site from French social security (Sécurité Sociale) and your health insurance provider (mutuelle), if eligible.
Orders placed in our physical stores are also eligible for reimbursement, just like in any optical shop.

1. ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS FOR HEALTH INSURANCE COVERAGE

To be eligible for reimbursement, the following conditions must be met:

  • In France, your prescription must be less than 5 years old if you are between 16 and 42 years old. It must be less than 3 years old if you are over 42, and less than 1 year old if you are under 16.

You must not have already received reimbursement for glasses during the current calendar year (depending on your health insurance contract:please check)

Only one optical equipment item (i.e., one pair of prescription glasses) can be reimbursed per calendar year or every 2 years, depending on your health insurance contract. If you order multiple pairs, we will ensure that the paid invoice and care form (feuille de soins) relate to the most expensive item.

2. COMPLETING MY CARE FORM

Once your glasses are ready, we will send you an email with your order tracking, along with your care form (feuille de soins) and paid invoice as attachments.

1/ Section "PERSON RECEIVING CARE AND INSURED PARTY"

Provide the surname, first name, date of birth, and Social Security number of the insured person.

2/ Section "PRESCRIBER"

This is your ophthalmologist's information.
Their identification number is shown on the prescription; it consists of 9 digits, the first 2 of which correspond to the department where they practice. Also provide their name and the prescription date.

3/ Sign the care form

FAQ

Can I get reimbursed without a prescription?

NO. You must have a valid prescription: less than 5 years old if you are between 16 and 42, less than 1 year old if you are under 16.
If you are over 43, your prescription must be less than 3 years old to be eligible for reimbursement from French social security and your health insurance provider.

How can I find out the amount of my reimbursement?

The standard Social Security reimbursement base is €0.15 per optical item.
If you have supplementary health insurance, contact them directly before purchase if you want the exact amount.
We can provide you with a detailed quote to send to your health insurer, which will help you determine the possible reimbursement amount.

Do you offer third-party payment (tiers payant)?

NO. We do not offer third-party payment, so you must pay the full amount upfront before submitting your reimbursement claim.

I have already used my prescription to get reimbursed for a previous item. Can I still be reimbursed by Social Security and my health insurance?

Yes, provided you have not already been reimbursed for a pair of prescription glasses during the current calendar year and your prescription is still valid.
Please note: some health insurance providers reimburse more than one optical item per year or allow a second reimbursement in case of breakage.

Do you accept CSS patients (formerly CMU)?

Unfortunately, we cannot process electronic transmission (télétransmission) for orders placed online (the Carte Vitale must be scanned to transmit your information to Social Security). We invite you to visit our physical stores, where we can do this without issue.
