Returns period

You have thirty (30) calendar days from the date you receive your order to request a return or exchange.

This period includes and extends the statutory withdrawal right of fourteen (14) days provided by French consumer law (articles L.221-18 et seq. of the Consumer Code). The 30-day commercial period granted by Le Petit Lunetier in no way limits your statutory rights.

Returns eligibility conditions

To be accepted, all returns must meet the following conditions:

  • The glasses must be returned in perfect condition, unworn, undamaged and in their original state
  • Products must be returned with all their accessories (case, cloth, original packaging)
  • The return request must be initiated within the 30-day period specified above

Any product returned incomplete, damaged or showing signs of use may be refused or subject to a partial refund, in accordance with article L.221-23 of the French Consumer Code.

Special case for orders with prescription lenses

Prescription lenses are custom-made based on your prescription and specifications, so they are excluded from the right of withdrawal in accordance with article L.221-28 3° of the French Consumer Code.

The frame, being a standard non-customised item, remains eligible for refund. In the event of a return of an order with prescription lenses, only the frame price can be refunded, less fitting and processing costs. The lenses and associated costs remain your responsibility, as their removal renders them unusable.

Exchanges

From mainland France

For any order shipped and returned from mainland France, exchanges are free.

A prepaid return label is available via our returns portal or on request from our customer service team.

Exchange order shipping method

Your exchange order is reshipped free of charge via the standard delivery method offered by default when placing the exchange order (delivery to a relay point near your address). The relay point is automatically selected by our team near your original delivery address.

If you wish to change the selected relay point, you can contact us within 24 hours of receiving the shipment notification for your exchange order.

If you prefer another delivery method (home delivery, express delivery), the corresponding costs are your responsibility, according to the rates in effect at the time of the request. Our customer service team will inform you of the applicable amount before confirmation.

Reshipping is subject to availability of the desired model at the time the return is processed.

From the European Union (Belgium, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Italy…)

For returns from an EU country, return shipping costs are your responsibility.

Exchange order reshipping is free if the original order qualified for free delivery. The reshipping method is the one offered by default in your market (economy delivery to a relay point or equivalent).

If you prefer another delivery method, the corresponding costs will be charged according to the current rates.

From the United Kingdom, Switzerland and any other country outside the European Union

For returns from the United Kingdom, Switzerland or any other country outside the European Union:

  • Return shipping costs are your responsibility
  • Exchange order reshipping costs are also your responsibility, according to the current rates communicated before confirmation
  • Taxes and customs duties paid on the original order are not refunded by Le Petit Lunetier, except where the return is due to an error or defect attributable to the brand

To facilitate the re-importation of the parcel to France duty-free, we recommend using a carrier that allows declaration as "returned goods" (Returned Goods Relief). Our customer service team can assist you with this.

Refunds

Refund methods

Refunds are processed using the payment method used for the order, within a maximum of fourteen (14) days from receipt of the compliant return at our workshop.

Original delivery costs are not refunded, except in cases of error or defect attributable to Le Petit Lunetier.

In-store return of a web order

You can return an order placed on lepetitlunetier.com at any of our 17 Le Petit Lunetier stores, within the 30-day period.

Conditions:

  • Send an email to contact@lepetitlunetier.com beforehand to notify us of your intention to return in-store and obtain customer service approval
  • Present yourself with the product in its original condition and packaging, along with accessories
  • Bring your order confirmation and proof of identity

Two options are available in-store:

  • Direct exchange: if the replacement product you want is available in the store, the exchange can be completed immediately
  • Refund: the store receives the return and forwards the request to our customer service team. The refund is processed within a maximum of 14 days, using the payment method used for the original order. Refunds cannot be processed directly in-store

Defective or non-compliant product

Visible defect upon receipt

If you notice a visible defect when you receive your order (breakage, wrong product delivered, obvious cosmetic defect), we ask you to notify us within 48 to 72 hours of receipt, by email to contact@lepetitlunetier.com with attached photographs clearly showing the defect.

In this case, no costs apply: we send you a prepaid return label and the corrected order is reshipped using the delivery method originally chosen for the order.

Statutory guarantees

Independently of the notification period above, you benefit from:

  • The statutory guarantee of conformity for 2 years from delivery of the product (articles L.217-3 et seq. of the French Consumer Code)
  • The statutory guarantee against hidden defects for 2 years from discovery of the defect (articles 1641 et seq. of the French Civil Code)

Important: these guarantees cover manufacturing defects (frame defect, prescription error in relation to the prescription provided, lens treatment failure without external cause). They do not cover accidental breakage, scratches on lenses resulting from use, or normal wear and tear of materials occurring after product delivery.

Returns or exchange procedure

  2. Prepare your parcel: place products in their original packaging, with all accessories (case, cloth)
  3. Ship the parcel: use the return label provided where applicable, or ship it via the carrier of your choice to the address:

Returns are processed within a maximum of 8 working days from their receipt at our workshop.

Right of withdrawal – statutory information

In accordance with articles L.221-18 et seq. of the French Consumer Code, you have a statutory period of fourteen (14) days from receipt of your order to exercise your right of withdrawal without having to justify your decision.

The 30-day period granted by Le Petit Lunetier is a commercial advantage and in no way limits the exercise of your statutory rights.
