How to buy glasses online

Shop prescription glasses online in a few simple steps

Ready to find your perfect pair of glasses? It's easy. Simply follow the steps listed below:

1/ Find the right model. You can choose from our large offer in the category "Prescription glasses". Once you have made your choice, simply add the perfect pair to your cart by clicking on "Add to cart".

2/ Once you have added your frame to your cart, a pop-up will automatically appear giving you the option to "Add prescription lenses". You can choose from 6 different lens types: Standard, Comfort or Premium, each of which can be provided with or without a blue light filter.

Please note: if you would like multiple prescription glasses, you must add the desired lens for each respective pair of glasses to your cart. You must add 1x pair of lenses for each individual frame purchased: for example, if you purchase 2 pairs of glasses with prescription lenses, you must add 2 pairs of lenses.

3/ Once you have placed your order, please send your prescription or correction values by email as a reply to your order confirmation or directly to contact@lepetitlunetier.com

Which values do I need to buy prescription glasses?

We require your current prescription values in order to apply your individual corrective values. You can easily find these values on your eyeglass prescription. Please note that the values for the left eye and right eye must be given separately.

The values we require:

1. SPH (sphere)
2. CYL (cylinder) - if required
3. AXI (axis) - if required
4. PD (pupillary distance)

Important: we will use the exact values that you send to us during the order process. It is your responsibility to carefully check that you have entered your values (sphere, pupillary distance etc.) correctly.

Here you can find a detailed breakdown for the prescription values:

Sphere (SPH)

The term "sphere" is essentially the degree of correction needed to correct your near or farsightedness. A plus (+) symbol will appear before the number if you are far-sighted, and a minus (-) symbol if you are short-sighted.
Please note that we must know both the symbol (plus or minus) as well as which eye the value refers to when you make your order.

Cylinder (CYL)

This is only relevant for those with corneal irregularities.
The number indicates the lens power needed to correct astigmatism in your eyes.
It is essential that you always give the correct symbol (plus or minus) for each eye (if needed), to ensure that your corrective lenses are suitable for your eyes.

Axis (AXI)

This is only relevant for those with corneal irregularities.
The axis indicates the orientation of the astigmatism and can be between 0 and 180 degrees. If a cylinder value is given, the axis value must also be given. Values must be given for each eye separately: the values may be the same for both, or they may not!

Pupillary distance (PD)

The pupillary distance indicates the distance between the centre of your pupil and the middle of the bridge of your nose and is given in milimetres (mm). If you do not send over your prescription or any values for your pupillary distance, we will use a standard pupillary distance. It is therefore your responsibility to ensure that we receive all the necessary information.

Are there any restrictions?

Prescription restrictions

Please note that we can only offer our lenses up to a certain corrective value, which is the following:

Sphere: from -6 to +6

(Cylinder) from -2.25 to +2.25

Unfortunately, if your corrective values are outside these parameters, we will not be able to produce your lenses.

Varifocal glasses

We do NOT offer varifocal glasses. This type of lens requires a highly precise adjustment that must be carried out individually for each pair, and can therefore only be done in person.

With all orders that we receive for varifocals, we can only pay attention to either near or far values.

Prism

Unfortunately, if you have been given a prescription for prism lenses, we are not able to produce these. This type of lens requires a highly precise adjustment that must be carried out individually for each pair, and can therefore only be done in person.

How to choose the right lenses?

The choice between Standard, Comfort or Premium lenses depend on your prescription values and on the wanted aesthetic finish on your frame: the higher the prescription, the thicker the lens will be. Depending on this, a thinner lens will be necessary to avoid a heavy and less aesthetic lens to wear.

Another important factor is also the chosen frame. The thinner the frame, the more thinning is needed to get an aesthetic finish.

Please find underneath our recommendation for your lenses choice, depending on your prescription values:

Examples of thin frames: Hanna.B, Phoebe.B, Kelsey.B, Sabrina.S
Examples of thicker frames: Elie.A, Sarah.C, Emma.S, John.B

If your prescription values are higher or if you need more advice regarding the final choice of your prescription glasses, don’t hesitate to contact us by email at contact@lepetitlunetier.com. We remain available from 9:00 am to 5:00pm from Monday to Friday and within this time frame, we answer every email within 24 hours.

Do you offer glasses without prescription?

Of course! All our glasses are automatically fitted with non-prescription lenses that feature a blue light filter. This filter protects your eyes from the harmful blue light that is emitted from artificial light sources such as computers, mobile phones, tablets etc.

Can I purchase prescription sunglasses?

Yes, this is possible. Please note, however, that some sunglasses models cannot be adjusted to your vision. If this is possible for a particular frame, you will find this option in the product information section.

To purchase prescription sunglasses, you must only select and add - besides your wanted frame - the lenses to your cart and send us your prescription or correction values at contact@lepetitlunetier or as a reply to your order confirmation email.
