The real issue
Too many glasses end up in landfill
Much of the industry runs on cheap, mass-produced plastic frames, designed to be replaced rather than repaired. The result: millions of pairs binned every year, in plastics that almost never get recycled.
We made the opposite call. A frame you keep, repair, and replace as rarely as possible. Holding on to your glasses for longer is what cuts the most waste. Nothing flashy — but it works.
Our materials
Acetate, metal, bio-acetate
Our frames are made from hypoallergenic acetate and metal, chosen for how they hold up over time. We favour materials that last, and that can be repaired. You'll find them across our prescription glasses and sunglasses.
Cut from a different cloth
More and more bio-acetate
We've launched more than fifteen frames in bio-acetate, a partly plant-based material that replaces some of the petroleum-based plastic.
We're doing it frame by frame, without rushing. We only switch a style over if the quality and the comfort hold up. Converting the whole collection will take time, and we'd rather do it properly than quickly.
Repairable
Designed to be repaired, not replaced
- In-store repairs, no appointment.A loose arm, a frame that needs reshaping, nose pads to swap out? Come by whenever suits you. We'll sort it there and then — no waiting, no receipt needed, on any of our frames.
- Spare parts for life.Past the first year of warranty, we still replace arms, nose pads, screws and hinges free of charge, with no time limit and while stocks last. You only cover the postage.
- Cover beyond the legal minimum.On top of your statutory rights, your frame is covered for a year by our commercial warranty.
Packaging and shipping
We rethought the whole package
This is usually where the waste hides. Plastic sleeves, over-packaging, filler nobody asked for. A single parcel can create a lot of waste for very little. We went back over every part of it, from the outer box to the sleeve around the frame.
- Recycled cardboard.Our shipping box is recycled cardboard — and recyclable again once it reaches you.
- No plastic mailer.We've dropped the polybag. Your glasses never ship in a plastic sleeve.
- Recycled plastic around the frame.The sleeve that protects the frame is recycled plastic. The industry default is still virgin plastic. We went with recycled.
- Rigid box, a case worth keeping.The board is rigid and compliant with EU packaging regulations. Inside, a proper case, built to outlast the delivery by years.
Transport
Sea and rail before air
Of all the ways to move goods, air freight emits by far the most. Wherever we can, our products come in by sea and rail instead. That's our default, not the exception.
We hold ourselves to the same rule. Since 2025, flying is off the table for our teams' business travel within France. We take the train.
Our manufacturers
We know who makes our glasses — and we can prove it
Our frames are made by partner workshops we deal with directly, and have done for years. That long-standing relationship is what lets us hold a real standard and stay close to the quality. These manufacturers are audited and certified, and each certification covers one specific thing.
- Sedex.Working conditions, and social and environmental practice.
- ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.Manufacturing rigour, including for prescription glasses, which legally count as medical devices.
- ISCC PLUS.Traceability of sustainable materials across the supply chain.
Our products pass conformity testing and carry the CE mark. Anything that doesn't meet our standards never makes it to the shelf.
Where we stand
We'd rather say less, and prove it
The eyewear industry isn't immune to greenwashing. Plenty of brands promise recycled, sustainable, responsible — with nothing behind it. We stick to what we can show you: the material, the repairs, the packaging, our manufacturers' certifications. The day we go further, we'll say so with evidence, not adjectives.
